Well there will be an alien commander, but there will be no new kharaa life forms. A while ago Flayra mentioned replacing the heavy armor with an exoskeleton, but we don't really know what that entails.

I think the NS lifeforms will also dramatically change. The movement system is probably a lot more accessible, which means a whole new dimension for the lower skill levels and a new set of rules for those who have been learning the movement extensively already. Not to speak of actual changes in abilities and weapons of course.

They (Max & Flayra) stated in <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/files/ns2/UnknownWorlds-Podcast-27.mp3" target="_blank">podcast #27 </a>that they plan on releasing an expansion sometime after NS2 is out. In that expansion there is possibility for new playable aliens. They also discussed a changes and tweaks to existing abilities of the current kharaa lifeforms. Blink was being worked on as well as the Alien Commander taking some of the responsibility away from the gorges when it comes to building structures.

Now the alien commander will be to blame for unpopular chamber choice instead of the gorges. Hopefully all strategic builds will be just as useful for aliens.

I'd like to see an alien ability like this fast forward roll of Sonic the Hedgehog, which doesn't affect the alien view and can be interrupted anytime with a walljump, attack or whatever.

    Sounds crazy, but I think it would be fun and a nice movement, tanking/meatshielding ability <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

mm I hope they do change chambers around so each is viable for early game.

I have a feeling the chamber system is going to change quite radically though

    You mean like a fast version of the Starcraft II baneling? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
