The Ready Room.

So I began to think, is NS2 going to have a ready room?

if it is, is there going to be anything different?

What is the communities ideas for the ready room?

    I hope it does. As far as ideas go, that really comes down the map makers creativity. Secret rooms are always good.

    Ready room was one of the greatest things about NS.

    An awesome addition would be some kind of display showing an auto-directed view of the game in progress. Would be cool for mappers to set up cameras in rooms and have some magical code to pick out the room with the most action and alternate between cameras in that room.

    so true... one time me and 8 other people went through 8 maps in the RR just listening to a guy who was preaching about the end of the word in 2012... halirious...

    But I hope NS2 will have more options in the RR by default. Not sure what they'd be though.

    Agreed, the ready room really adds to the social aspect of the game. I'd really miss it if it wasn't in NS2, and I don't see why'd they'd drop it.

    I do see why they would drop it... accessibility and intuitiveness, however with the commentary system i've seen in the twitter, now I can also see how keeping it and using the commentary to guide people when they first enter the RR will fix this

    Ready rooms also give the player a quick "look" at what they can expect the map to be like.

    If they see that the ready room is nicely detailed, good use of textures, etc., then they can expect the map too look good.

    If it's like a 2-textured square then they know it's probably going to be a crappy map...or a siege map.

    I found the RR very easy to understand... I mean your in a room that has doors for 'Marine' 'Alien' 'Spec' 'Random', seems pretty obvious to me. Only thing I didn't know at first was the F buttons are quicker ways to join teams.
