remember that HMG has an ungodly long reload time.
A great tactic is to engage them long range with acid rocket. Duck in and out from behind a corner (or blink around forcing them to shoot everywhere), just rememebr that HMG is horribly inaccurate and can't kill a fade very fast unless that fade is close, whereas the fades can kill far away and close. Whittle them down till they have very low ammo.
It's at this point that you fire your last acid rocket and blink in on them. They will hear the devistating "click" when they pull the trigger and know that it is all over

I played as marines last night, and I recycled my own weapons whenever possible, which was especially easy when the fades attacked our spawn . I'm not saying that its because of me alone that marines won, but more resources = more goodies to build.
Recycle everything you can, welders included. In fact, you only really need one welder per group, if you don't have a designated welder person. Just pass it person to person and redo your armor in between fights.
