Base Cramping

<div class="IPBDescription">An odd approach to base construction</div> I have started employing a tactic I call "base cramping," where I try to cram a whole functional base into the smallest possible area. Some of the maps have fantastic little 'hidey holes' for the command chair in which you can fit at least 2 marine teliports, 1 turret factory, 1 armory, 1 arms lab, 1 prototype lab and an observatory if you try hard enough. Base cramping is only really effective on a couple of maps like NS_Eclipse and NS_Bast to some extent (I think its NS_Caged that has the best location) but it allows you to cover an entire base with a minimal amount of turrets.

It might seem like a pointless idea, but when you get some bottleneck defences up it completely blocks the fades line-of-sight to any important buildings. You have effectively compressed a functional center into a small, well shielded area and can top it off by laying a million mines in front of it and/or blocking up bottlenecks with turret factories. Beware though, unless you take some action against the aliens early on you will probably reach a stalemate with your cramped base.

Just remember, if your base is too full of crap and has a couple of backup turret factories it will either block the onos whilst the turrets and marines finish them or give them something to be busy with.

this tactic would work great on Hera, Bast, and I believe, Nothing since you have to take a lift up to the CC area. If you put the major components up by the CC and also down low on the ground. The aliens will have a very hard time knocking u out.
