ingame sound volume trouble

Just installed NS yesterday but i'm havign trouble turning down the ingame sound. i can turn down and off all sounds except the mp3 volume ( i assume its the mp3 volume that controls the sounds of music played on certain levels, might sound silly but theres always a chance <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)

anyway i've turned down from audio option and console, even goen so far as to go into half life it;s self and turn down those sounds just incase they had an influence, and nothing.

does any one have any ideas? i was thinking of just deleting the specific sound files from the folders but not sure if that would just bring up error messages all the time or not.

any help much appriciated <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

I think the variable is <b>cl_musicvolume</b> . Check what is set for in console and try lowering it. Or you can try <b>cl_musicenabled 0</b> to disable it.
I thought it is available in some advanced tab? I don't really use the in game setting since I have a cfg file setup for everything.

I found this link that is pretty well documented on the variables
