Unfortunately for me, I've already gone one. I would likely buy some sort of cover/decal though, or do a custom paint job if I had any skill at all. NS2 definitely needs some sort of NS2 Logitech Plugin for the Display Screen though. Mmmmm.
Hmmm well NS being a teambased game thats a blend of RTS and FPS would definitely benefit from using the display on the keyboard, just off the top of my head a couple of things that could be displayed are:
-Current number of controlled res towers -Current location on the map -Current orders as given by comm such as "proceed to waste" or something like that to act as a constant reminder instead of having to spin around to look for the waypoint icon -For combat maps, your level and experience bar -Squad number and how many other marines are in your squad
And again these are just suggestions off the top of my head, ill edit this post as I think of more but please refrain from posting "uhh thats stupid" or non-constructive replies like that, these are just suggestions.

Yes, but don't forget that a minimalist HUD is always the best. Better to to have to glance down at your keyboard/hit a popup information key well playing to get some small bit of info, then to have stuff on screen covered and there by miss that almost invisible skulk. I liked in C&C3 how with my G15 keyboard it would displace number of harvesters. A small bit of info that is nice to find. A few small things will fix just fine on there. Res tower count, and number of squad mates is some nice info that you don't need on you hud, but is nice to have a place to find it when you have a few secs of break in the action.

It could be useful to have the where you are now screen, and another screen showing you the whole overview of the map, with stuff on it.
As a on the ground marine, or alien, it would most like hurt more then help. You don't need to see the whole map as much as marine then the commander does. In fact, you are theory trusting the commander to guide you to where you are needed in the big picture, where you take control of the small picture that is the room you are in, and let the commander worry about something farther away.
As for exactly how overpowering, if they have good mini map pop up mode, then it might be worse in some cases, as you have to move your eyes away from the marines you might be watching for some important reason, say waiting for the exact second that skulk walks away to drop a phase gate. And looking at another screen always takes more time then looking at more information on your current screen. However small it might be.

i'd love to see an ns2 plugin!
Chat text is always good, or like a compass or waypoint system. or just some typical statistics - maybe accuracy or your current weapon?
or make the display keyboard flash black/white/black/white when your RT's are taking damage <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
for aliens it would be simple messags like, hive is under attack, that kind of thing
obviously you don't want to give G15 players too much of an advantage over the norm - although it might be hell of a way to secure some funding from logitech <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

It just struck me: Aliens 2 Type Monitoring (in that APC) on the secondary Screen! That would be so awesome with Vidscreens and Status of every Marine.

I don't have 2 monitors, or a G15 keyboard... but I'm listening to this thread intently.
I think all these suggestions have merit to them. But when I originally thought that this would help the funding of NS2; the short-cutted abilities I had in mind, we're easier ways to drop IPs, or an Armory. Along with medkits and ammo.
The Keyboard LED's flash when your RT is under attack is phenomenal idea, in my opinion. Nothing like a real-life issue to get your attention on an important matter.
I think it would be better to make a G19 keyboard applet. Since the G19 LCD is a lot better than the G15 display. Or if you guys are bored, you could make one for each Keyboard. Or you could make a competition out of it. Let the community make some, and the winner gets some cool NS2 in-game stuff, or something like that. It would surprise me if there wasn't atleast one out there that could fix up an applet for the G19 and G15 (since they use the same coding language).
