Soldier likes/dislikes upgrade icons

<div class="IPBDescription">Commander HUD request</div>Certain players flat out suck with certain weapons, or are uncomfortable getting certain upgrades, or they're unstoppable killing machines if granted the right upgrades. It'd help both the Commander and soldiers alot if each soldier could prompt a selection of favoured and non-favoured upgrades, which would then hover next to the soldier on the Commander HUD for advicement.

Think of it kind of like the squad upgrade system in Dawn of War 2 where the icon over a squad of tactical marines will change according to what weapon they carry. This'd be the same sort of thing, but with an icon prior to the upgrade instead.

This way, apart from following his own adjustments to the flow of combat, the Commander will also have an idea of who would make the most out of what upgrades without needing to know each player from before.

I haven't played NS for ages, so I apologize if this has been adressed before. It was something of a concern of mine back in the day cause I loathed the grenade launcher and heavy armour, while I was a big jetpack fan.

Arn't upgrades global and always are beneficial?

Also you will be able to buy your own equipment and weapons as a Marine.

This is a less than useful thread.

Donnerberg has a point if marines get to choose the researched tech for themselves. This would eliminate the extra time and experience needed to decipher who has what and make quick and logical decisions

I wasn't thinking of global upgrades, but weapons and items the Commander would buy and drop ontop of a guy. Though if NS2 is going to let us purchase items for ourselves then I guess it cancels out this minor problem.
