I've been doing the same thing haha, I can't wait!!!
lol I think you might wanna try and do something else. Have you considered learning a programming language? You could start reading the official Lua doc so when the game is released you can code cool shyt for the rest of us to enjoy!

That manual sucks... we need a better book to learn from... something like lua in 3 hours type book. Maybe the community can make one?
It would help people to get into modding the game from it's vanilla state. Hmm maybe i should do it just to make sure it comes out good lmao

Lua is a programming language thus I point you to the insightful article <a href="http://norvig.com/21-days.html" target="_blank">Teach yourself programming in ten years</a>.
Admittedly Lua is a very easy language but don't delude yourself into thinking your gonna learn it in 3 hours unless your already a programmer. But then if your already a programmer you'll have no problems reading the Lua manual.
and advancing my c++ skills since summer break a university I have nothing else to do (ok, making some sports and clubbing)
Damn right.
Well, I'v been following the news of NS2 in,,,, over one and a half year now. I didn't join the community as soon as I saw the website, I was just checking the podcasts that was released once a week. I discovered quite late that there were comments of the podcasts and became curious.
After been checking a couple of bodcasts I thought "what the hell", so I joined. I'v been posting qutie little at the forums but been checking the news little bit to mush.
Ahh, enough about the the history.
Now days I still check the news. =P

I think he ment something like 'basic' knowledge of LUA, so we could smoothly read this <img src="http://www.unknownworlds.com/cache/thumbnails/pistolcode_800x824.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
I admit this is easy to read even without knowledge of LUA
