I'm sure there are things I can tweak, if you spot them feel free to post here or on my talk page! Open to any ideas!!
Anyone got some photoshop skills willing to work up an image that's 600-800px wide (have it fade out to black on the outer edges) and approx 15-25px high using the infestation?
I am thinking of an idea to have it appear in the bottom footer box under the Privacy Policy / About NS2 community wiki comments, along the bottom of it there.
attachment just a snippet of the footer area without the border.
EDIT: Should I bother trying to code in work-arounds for IE6 and IE7 in regards to display issues with some CSS? M$ finally played ball with IE8 and it renders as it should without any special CSS / JS hacks to make it work. Might add a disclaimer to download and install FF or Upgrade to IE8 if it doesn't look right.

All sites should support older browsers. IE6 is debatable as it's so outdated by now, but surprisingly many people still use it. Websites with disclaimers like 'Designed for IE8 / 1280x1024' scream "amateur".
I think it looks like it could use a bit more work, it's mostly the contrasts that feels a bit off. Is it possible to get the css and html? I can do a bit of texture work and see what interpretation I can make myself (or if you need textures or images yourself I can probably provide with something unless you can do them yourself). It's a great thing that you've started on this though, so I salute you for that :p
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->May I suggest using the same colors as the forums, i.e. off-white text and lighter blue links that change to even lighter on hover, etc.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree, it's not wrong to use the colourtheme from their own site, and it's more pleasing to the eye to watch. Think it's worth a shot ^^; From there you can make additional changes to improve it.

Will look more later (heading out for the day now)
However the CSS can be taken from : <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/index.php/MediaWiki:monobook.css" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/inde...ki:monobook.css</a> You can't edit it, so if you have Firebug for Mozilla feel free to use that for injecting the css back into the page and save a copy of it to your own personal CSS page: <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/index.php/Special:Mypage/monobook.css" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/inde...ge/monobook.css</a> <-- You need to be logged in when clicking this
You won't be able to edit the embeded HTML layout of the page, just edit the actual "article" content layout that's all. But with CSS you can of course style things a little bit more :)

Anyone with some photoshop skills willing to do some stuff for me on the wiki? Mostly looking at some icons around 45x45pixels for template inclusion. Just would prefer them themed Natural Selection, doesn't have to be overly fancy mostly a consistent design.
Either reply here or <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/index.php/User_talk%3a%44aworm" target="_blank">on my talk page</a> indicating your interest.
Ok, now that we have the NS2 Logo transparency properly did a little bit of work.
Decided I might change things a bit with the logo rotation, rather than every page load, have it change (at this stage) daily.
6 different logos will show up, I'm not sure in what order though.
It will involve 2 things. 1: That background pictures / banners will be redone to not have the Ns2 logo on them, just the visual art only.
2: The logo itself will stay as it was, I'll simply incorporate the NS2 Logo on it to look something like this. <img src="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/wiki/images/b/bb/Example-new-logo-setup.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
The NS2 will be in the same spot each time, have got a file setup so I can do this. Thoughts? Each image will have the NS2 logo on it.

For general layouts? That is entirely possible. C3 mentioned something similar in IRC and it is dooable. It's only showing the hive in that one because that was (at the time of setting it up) the picture that came up for me (<i>running it on my own dev wiki so I don't break anything on the main wiki</i>).
Minor change. No menu below logos as I just deleted that part. But main header image / logo part is there with a couple of different logos and some backgrounds. To make it stand out some more I've just doubled up on the logo which graciously gave it a nice double border on it, but I might try clear the shadow that appears under the letters over the claws.
Changes so far: <ul><li>NS2 logo is a little more higher and to the right, applied some effects to make it more readable.</li><li>The background image goes really wide. If you have a 1680x1050 resolution (like me), you can maximize the window and see the full image. But if that is too much, I can shrink the size.</li><li>For Skulk and Gorge are 2 images, facing in and out, and we love both.</li></ul>
We are waiting for more assets images so we can add them too. Will be great to have the heavy armour . And yes, I'm helping Daworm on this :D
They are definately looking better, anyone else have thoughts or feedback? What sort of rotation cycle would you like to see? I can have the logo and banner rotate on whatever sequence (time based) I like.
Images rotate on a 30minute change for the logo, and 10 minutes for the banner image. Some banner images will need to be tweaked though as the menu bar along the top of the screen disappears into it, but that's a minor issue.

I can have the logo and banner rotate on whatever sequence (time based) I like.
Hourly / Daily / Minute etc.
I'm one of two options.
Logo: daily
Background: each page load
or
Logo: Hourly
Background: 10 minutes
Logos and Backgrounds
Here's a quick grab of the pictures with the Marine as a logo too (thanks to PaiSand's work so far).
<img src="http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9315/marinelogo.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />
