So I was playing NS again,

and I was reminded of what the game is really about... movement - for both aliens and marines. You could totally revamp all lifeforms, change the tech tree, change map dynamics and it really wouldn't matter. All this ###### about mobile sieges and onos is fine and dandy but I would prefer to see how the most important aspect of the game is progressing - movement.
Would be nice to hear your concepts for replacing bhopping (since you claim you have a better-than-bhop movement mechanic). Ideally, it would be nice to see some videos demoing air control, lerk flight, blink, leap, marine jumping, etc.

Saying that NS1 is all about movement is like saying it's all about aiming your gun. The game is much more rich than that.
EDIT: Also, if this does not turn into a bunny hop debate. I would be impressed.
IMO NS is about Teamwork and Teamwork to NS is more important than to any other game. It's all about implementing all the necessary tools to help the team to communicate and work together to become one in order to win the game.
who cares about exploits :P
On lower levels the movement system mostly equals mobility as moving around and jumping aren't discouraged by slowdowns and inaccuracy, on higher levels of play more movement tricks get added and used. All in all, NS gameplay keeps flowing in the points where most games would have turned into passive stationary campfests.
Low level game mechanics are however extremely sensitive and difficult to perfect in FPS games. Its the solid low level game mechanics that are actually worth paying for because they take a certain level of skill and finesse to implement. I hope to soon see demos featuring the promised networking, physics, and movement that will topple the ones we have in NS1.
Is a visual representation of what I think he is talking about. For those who don't understand where he is coming from.
