The eyes

Why do all aliens have two eyes? And always on the top of their head?
Why not 1, or 3, ...or none? ...or like a spider with many eyes? ...or like a fly with many lenses in the eye? ...or on stalks like snails?
Why not eyes on the sides of their head? Or below, near the ground?
The way it is now just seems too "mammal"-like. At least make one of the alien species have different eyes.

Additionally, I can see an eyeless lerk or fade that has an enhanced or different perspective -- like infra-red or motion based; maybe even able to see through thin walls.

While we're at it, I have a neat little idea which could add a lot of flavour:

Make aliens blink once in a while. Especially if their eyes glow in the dark. In most games creatures don't blink, which makes them look unnecessarily robotic.

Even better, make your vision get blurrier and blurrier until you press the blink button. Skilled players would be able to blink in more heated circumstances and play with blurrier vision than the average player, providing extra gameplay depth.

I really do hope he wasn't. But for blinking lets watch this Escapist: Unskippable

i've always thought it would be really creepy to have the eyes on the aliens, follow the closest marine player model, so it always looks like they are watching you ! eeep!
