Skulk wall running POV

Playing ns1 was a blast, but every time i was playing skulk i would run on the walls and ceiling but the skulk just stayed vertically positioned, and was hanging from its side or back,

i was wondering if thats been improved at all, if any of you played the old descent 1-3 series, thats kind of what im picturing, if you are upside down the whole camera POV should rotate with you and the map should be upside down!

how does the upside down or wall mounted POV currently work for skulks?

Possibly it will be an option - many people have expressed feeling disoriented or even nauseous from such effects back when it was discussed for ns1.

    been discussed

most believe a toggled option for wall is down versus down is down would be best. some way to tell which way is true down is critical to prevent people from getting confused, as well as consistent art direction of which is the floor and which is the ceiling.

agreed, descent can get a little confusing, and can make people who arent used to it a little queezy.

a down is down option would be epic.

Try playing Tremulous where the walls and floor and ceiling all look alike. Soooo confused.

anyone ever played aliums vs pre-daters 2?
as an alium when you wall walked there would be a little blue arrow pointing to the floor.
    that would be really helpfull
the only problem with that game was that even when running over a little rail on the cieling or a light your whole view shot up then shot down then down then up again all very rapidly, too much of that would make my head hurt.
so having a wall is down view would work well if the view adjusted slightly slower so that you could actually stay oriented rather than have to stop and look around.

I really liked the POV in the AvP games despite it's flaws. It gave the wall running thingo a sense of difficulty, rather than what it's like in NS1, however I do understand that players get nauseous from a system like in AvP, so I definately think a toggle-able option would be the way to go. That way everyone is happy rather than just one side of the scale.

    Yay! +1 for toggle option.

    Yeah toggle would work well.

    I loved AvP 2, too !... :)

Can't wait for the new AvP, looks insanely violent though...

    +1 toggleable.
Tremulous' system is quite easy once you understand the map layouts.
And I think somebody suggested having DI smooth wallwalking in rough areas.
