<div class="IPBDescription">I don't know if it's come up yet...</div>Is it possible to use a rotating/zooming feature for commanders?
that way multi level maps would be much more possible and commanders could get a better view of things
I can't stand it when i'm comming and i try to drop a marine some med packs and they land on the overhead rafters or vents.

Any thoughts?

As you have settled your case, i may as well take over this thread.

    I just wondered whether the commander may have a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_projection#Orthographic_projection" target="_blank">parallel perspective,</a> for instance an <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isometric_projection" target="_blank">isometric projection</a> or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphical_projection" target="_blank">oblique projection</a> (as used in the military).

    see example A

i think this will reduce optical distortion as you scroll over the map and result in a more strategy-game-feeling
as every 3D modeling program i know is able to produce that kind of view, i guess this is within the bounds of possibility
wikipedia says about that: <i>Increasing the focal length and distance of the camera to infinity in a perspective projection results in an orthographic projection</i>
