Gifting NS2

I'd like to give someone an NS2 pre-order. Can I just purchase it like normal and give their email address instead of my own?

I just want to make sure there won't be any problems if it's purchased in my name for someone else.

What I did in this case was to use an email different from the one I used to order my key and then switch it to my friend's email. This was because I didn't have my friend's recent email and I wanted to tell him before I sent the key. You could do it the way you're describing too.
