Make alien res node look specialized gorge

The alien res node should look like a highly specialized kharra. The node could initially look and act like a gorge which attaches its mouth to the res-spot. As the res node "grows", its glowing belly could get larger as its legs and other features diminish. The node could even have two specialized legs which let it move itself around the res-spot, as if its "feeding" on the resource. Perhaps some latent abilities of the regular gorge could be exhibited by the res node.

Wow... not sure if that's funny or disgusting lol.

Can it also squeal like a pig when you poke it with your knife :P

Perhaps we can have it where instead of a enemy rt, that it's a conduit or hose that leads to a hive. Something associated with the infestation.

Soudns ... kinda cool but from previous updates this is a bit late of a suggestion for model / animation of structures for aliens. As I believe they have all but a couple of models done. IE: Fade and the marine pistol and/or knife (if they're keeping knife too).

this idea makes sense. they should also impliment this idea to the other chambers. back in ns1, chambers, hives, and rts would just randomly pop out of nowhere. it would look better if it grew from some infestation and the gorge molds it.

chambers should anyway grow out of infestation. would be more "realistic". A gorge which wants to place a structure would first infestate a small area and make it grow more and more. out of this creep the chamber will grow out.

I dont like the idea about res nodes being morphed lifeforms

It works for Zergdrones in Star Craft, but I doubt Blizz would be happy for that "homage".

I like that idea. Makes the chambers more like plant-blossoms. The OC is sort of like that nasty plant in Jumanji that shoots out the poisonous barbs.

Also it'd make sense that their is no more MC because the aliens can just move fast over the infestation. This is akin to the behavior in siege maps like (damn i'm not sure which because no server runs them anymore!!) either supersiege003 or siege007 where gorges would line the halls with MC so aliens could cruise down them faster.

well, thats just because of leap / blink / charge :)

so you mean aliens should get a speed buff or engergy buff when they are onto infestation?

Ya that's what i'm saying. Doesn't it fit / make sense?

If the fast-energy-charging, from the MC behavior, is found out to be to much of an advantage, then just a speed-movement-boost (the way i see it the aliens don't have phase-gates so if the infestation becomes like a alien-highway... well that works to...)

Imagine a way for aliens to enter the infestation and pick the point where they emerge from... lol
