Demo-booths in public squares, LANs, etc

I was wondering what UWE's view is with regards to live demonstrations of NS2. You can think of demobooths in a gamestore, or demonstration PC during LANs. For instance, I can remember that a while back, ubisoft did some nice things with public demonstrations of a new multiplayer component of one of their IPs. Although the concept was simple, the awareness and aftermath of this stunt proved to have a definite positive effect.

Would UWE give their consent to such events, or just simply their blessing? Or would you require certain bare minimums?

I'm just putting this out here as a think-tank opportunity. It maybe more wishfull thinking, but it would be nice to have a certain ground from which to take off from.

Also, maybe there is someone else with ideas in this matter, or maybe even the resources to pull it off.

So come on, share your ideas!

umm dont u think it be cost friendly to the dev team if they just supplied videos of gameplay action from maybe like alpha test to certain game sites. Iono i think its gonna depend on their budget.

    Hahaha, noooo. I didn't mean on UWE's pocket :)

I meant in the way that if people wanted to showcase the game at LAN events, if they would be ok with it. Basicly ranging, from 'can I take my alpha version to a friend/acquaintance/relative' to 'can me and my buddies set up a closed network at a LAN party for people to try the game'

Probably not as it's using the Steamworks application interface for friends and crap.
Remember the therms of steam regarding gamecafés...

It doesn't even come close to a cyber cafe :)

    Its more for demonstration purposes.

But however, you raise and interesting question... is NS2 part of the valve cybercafe program? Should it be? Is NS/NS2 popular enough for that segment?
