Some Information please on NS2

<div class="IPBDescription">(intrested in preordering)</div>Hi, i used to play NS1 way back in the day and when i stumbled upon this site i was happy to see that NS2 was in the works... and that the last update wasn't in like 2004 or something :D. Now i know that there is not a ETA on the release date of the Alpha or the Beta and as a avid player of the first mod i am eager to support this game with my money.

I just have a few questions and maybe you guys might be able to help me out....

1. As far as a release date for any playable content, does anyone have an estimate of what year the release would be in... I would like to pre-order but am hesitant to do so because i am not quite sure what i am doing in 2015. :)

2. Was there a time limit set for the Special Edition pre-order, to my knowledge most pre-orders for special editions end a few months before the release and since i am intrested in getting the special edition would be disappointed if the pre-order ended while i wasn't checking the site every day.

That pretty much covers it, can't wait. Thank you for your responses.

    Well, the game is supposed to release fall of this year. Whether that happens or not, we'll just have to see. As for pre-ordering the special edition, I don't know if there's a time limit. But, if you do order the special edition, you'll be getting some playable content sooner than the actual release.

    1. If you go back and observe the rate at which content is being revealed, along with the quality of that content, you can see they are making great progress. ETA is likely on the scale of months and certainly not years.
    2. If you are concerned, buy it now... very simple.

    The beta is supposed to be this fall, not the retail version.

    I've been saying this since the spring- and despite the deadline getting closer I'm hanging on it- alpha on Oct 31st.

    As a prospective customer I am also interested in hearing if:

    I don't think there was a ninja... I don't think that it ever stated a release date on NS2.com. That was just in the investor's presentation video that was posted.

    Actually the investor said summer 2009. Fall 2009 was from the trailer and a couple interviews. From the interviews I got the feeling Charlie wasn't confident on that date, but he's stuck with it officially until this interview. Getting the alpha this fall is fine by me.

    Do you know how to identify a <b>question</b>? In fact, if I remember correctly, I have put an "?" at the end of my sentence. Is it now forbidden to make questions to the devs?
    I just asked Dux if, based on sherpa's post, alpha was really being released on 31st oct.

    Not for an alpha with only 1 or 2 maps and lack of exoeskeleton for marines.
    It's just for us, fans of NS, <b>test</b> the game and, most important, don't complain about bugs.

    There's no prefect date for the release of the game.I think there are just unofficial talk about it.But whatever it is I'm very desperate for the release.
