<div class="IPBDescription">(captain planet, he's a hero...)</div>In the old video about lighting, the skybox looks to be made of concept art. Is this how it will look in the final game?

I think I remember seeing some models a long time ago that UWE was developing for out in the skybox. I think that extra geometry out there will make it look a little bit more interesting but I love the artistic styling of the concept art. In that video even though there isn't much out the windows, the consistent lighting and everything makes it fit and take hold my imagination.

In the image above it's hard to tell where the art ends and the game begins. I think that this is a very good thing.

edit: If you don't understand the title, we already have threads for fire and water on the front page.

I dreamed a long time for a Game that looks rendered and painted at once.
I had never noticed that in the video. Good look.

And it looks very very good.

Also it's nice if the concept art is appearing somewhere in game and not only "thrown in trash" after the game's finished.

This would give the Game a +1 to unique Style and Atmosphere.

All I know is that this game is going to look good.

Don't understand how they keep such a low system requirements though.

By low system requirement, they just told that DX9 video cards compatibles would could handle it ... But it will surely require end video cards to enjoy everything full details in 1900*1200.

Nice screen cap. Looks familiar(and that is a pretty old video so it probably has more detail now)

Did they ever give out requirements for full detail 1920x1200? I haven't upgraded my desktop since 2005 because I really haven't needed to. This game hopefully will be the excuse I need to upgrade. Probably wait until they announce the alpha or whatever.

They did not, but do not expect to draw 10 000 polygones by player * 8 players (average for a scene) with all the post processing effects without a nice video card.

Halo 2 does that for most of its backdrops.

Also bear in mind that is a badly compressed youtube video so everything looks like it's made of jpegs.

But that's not what makes it look "together". That's the lighting and the atmospheric effects.

I love being amazed by the concept originally, and then even more amazed when the actual product surpasses the concept art. The same thing happened with the new Marine models. I love the look. It's not ultra-realistic, but everything just looks like high-quality concept art.

And the fact that you can't see anything clearly in the video.

I can tell what's world and what's skybox in halo 2 when playing it even though it's done very well, but I couldn't if you showed me a badly pixellated video of it.,
