Combat Shield

People went all haywire when i said 'Riot Shield' and that is partly my fault. However, it is the same basic idea.

A lightweight combat shield used for protection against ranged attacks from Lerks, Gorges and Offensive chambers as well as melee attacks from Skulks and Fades and whatnot.

You can consider it a substitute for armor upgrades. It would add more visual appeal and more realism.

It would only be capable of defending in 1 direction - the front. It would be less durable than HA but would allow for more mobility. It could have a knock back ability against leaping skulks.

For visual reference:

It would be a cheaper alternative to HA earlier in the tech tree.

Starcraft II has implemented a similar upgrade to their marines so why can't it work for NS?

    Welcome to the forums.

<a href="http://unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=105266&hl=shield&st=20" target="_blank">Is this</a> the kind of shield you're talking about? Check out <a href="http://unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=105853" target="_blank">this handy guide</a> for searching the forums(I used the keyword shield).

Also you can ask a moderator to move you topic rather than recreating it in both the NS2 General Discussion and the I&S forums.

Finally, you didn't need to create another topic for this. <a href="http://unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107563" target="_blank">Your other one</a> hasn't left the front page and is still being replied to. You can propose changes to your original idea there instead of creating a new topic about the same thing.
