eeek
So recently i bought myself a wireless card for my desktop, a Netgear WG3113v3 pci card. when i installed it on vista x64 the driver was automatically installed and everything worked fine no problem. Now I just installed Windows 7 x64 RTM I got through the university, and I can't find a signed driver that will work with it. I know i can make it work with an unsigned driver, but I don't want to have to press F8 every time I boot, or do something else to hack it to work.

What i don't understand is why I have a signed driver for vista x64 but not for win7x64. I looked at the driver details and found that in vista the driver is version 1.0.0.52 while the only ones i can find to download are 1.0.0.53, but those aren't signed.

help anyone?

From my brief look at win 7, I thought there was an option when you pressed f8 to always boot using the unsigned drivers without question. I am not using it right now so I can't check, sorry.

that option has to be done every time you start the computer.

Hm it appears you're not the only one with the problem: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp...;fp=1&cad=b

I'm going to say Netgear needs to fix this, try contacting them via https://my.netgear.com/registration/login.aspx

this is where proper research would have helped you before you got the card and i hope it has made you think to do so next time.
and win7 isnt out yet officially, which could relate to driver problems in some cases.

when i got the card i was assured it would work with vista x64, and it did. there was nothing to lead me to believe that it wouldn't on win7. and i have the RTM for win7 that i got through the university, so it is the official release. if your uni has an MSDN academic alliance subscription, you should be able to get it too.
