Well why cant UWE just scratch some 30sec long 1v1 video together, like Charlie vs Max or smthing. To show these whiners some gameplay and to stop threads like this taking over forums.
You would think that that would quiet the rumblings, but I have the suspicion that they would never be satisfied. Something would be "wrong" - not long enough, not dark enough, not bright enough, no lerk, no fade, no moving fan......... All that would lead to are demands for another 10 sec video and another and another. And not to mention the gawd awful speculation that would do its best to impersonate a California forest fire.
The people that have pre-ordered have, YES, the right to complain about the "no pronunciation from UWE". I believe that most of the pre-orderers wouldn't mind if NS2 gets delayed, but I also believe that most of them wants something to tell that those $20 or $40 were worth it. And, please, don't come with the argument "those $40/$20 were worth all the time that you played NS1". Really? Seriously, NS1 is a free mod and I've paid the Special Edition of NS2, not NS1. If they wanted money for NS1, they would've sold it, not made it freely available.
You know, people are realizing that they've paid for something partially inexistent (at least for the time being).
Well, I remember a post from Cody which explained this mather well. It's like this: They have a playable build of the game already, but they can't show it to us. Why? Because most of the stuff are placeholders. As you can see on their last videocast where they displayed their new engine, some of the stuff like the machinegun and the hive were simply NS1 models imported as placeholders. Would you like a gameplay video with unfinished HUD (because what's the point in making a HUD if are not even done with the rest of the stuff is finished) and textureless rooms?
No? Yes? "Im a fan, I'll understand if the video shown is a WIP" well if said video get's leaked then most of every other potential costumer that never heard of the game willnot understand it and it will be a mayor PR fiasco.
So be patient, and you can't wait then send an email to the devs and ask for a refund, I highly doubt that they'lldeny it but you'll just have to buy the game again once it's finally realeased and you realize it kicks ass.
just do what i do. Instead of checking this website everyday for something new. check every 2 weeks. ull find that so much more satisfying than checking every day just to find out that ur insatiable hunger for ns2 updates is not fulfilled. play a game, go outside, participate in sport, take out ur frustration out on a small puppy (jkz).
u pretty much answered ur own question by stating that they are a small team. which they are and are obviously very busy atm trying to finish this game and only enough time to do quick updates on twitter and no time for any big media updates.

I agree with Linfo... wtf? I agree with Linfsoma? *thud*
I just hope they manage to keep up some kind of hype and reporting. I've lately heard a few remarks about the old site downtime issue and the lack of connection to the community back then.
I can see your frustration, but I'm pretty sure UWE knows what they're doing. They really don't owe you anything, especially if you haven't even pre-ordered. Also, comparing this game's development and what not to Starcraft 2 is just stupid.

pre-ordering may actualyl get the game finished faster - more cash to splash on human resources - but posting in a forum, certainly won't speed up development.

We need less of stupid posts like this.
You are just trolling him, and don't ask for the thread to be closed just because you don't like it.
I don't know, I didn't see any gameplay of NS1 before it was released, only the odd screenshot and listening to playtester stories (god that got me so hyped, without even knowing what the aliens and structures looked like), and then actually getting in-game was so huge a deal words fail me.
Of course, that was back before 100 TB/s internet and YouTube...
Please, stop asking over and over again. Fall is not ended yet. And if they need a little more time to make the game the right way, let them do it. Like in every other game development company, a release date is an estimate, unless you already have a final product done and you only need to fine tune some aspects that don't delay it.

And they answered. But what was weird was they weren't talking from their point of view. They were talking ask though pai was the one making the sentences.
Why would they refer to themselves as they?
When someone contacts you do you call yourself they?
I think that he thought UWE was a separate company, pai did. But no They are the same people, so they wouldn't call themselves they. That would just be strange.

This seems to have descended into fairly circular bickering and accusations, so I'm going to lock it.
More media will be released when the time is right. If you want to wait until then to pre-order, that's your choice. If you already have, that's your choice too. There's no need to argue like this about which of you were right.
