Gun viewmodel perspective is wrong.

<div class="IPBDescription">Kills the immersion, for me at least.</div>This is something that annoys me to hell.

The red lines show where the gun is pointing- not to the centre
Green lines show where the gun should be pointing.
I know it`s silly but small things like this usually make or break a deal for me.
So, is this final or are there still changes made to viewmodel?
If not, can you change the viewmodel position through console commands like in some games?
Even better, can you use custom models and skins like with source games that can easily fix this?
Other than that, the game looks awesome.

It is probably not final and customization is most likely going to happen and even supported ;)
This is a still image, there is no way to tell if the gun will always be pointing in that direction or if it will move freely when you turn around.
maybe its just a animation.. you know when you stand still
for some seconds.
We know the weapon view model size is too large, and have plans to reduce it. While the concept and look of it is pretty final, we can adjust the position, camera FOV and overall size fairly easily, and will continue to tweak and refine the Assault Rifle view model as we go along to find the size that works the best both aesthetically and for gameplay.
Thanks.

jeez, relax... - it's just one screenshot from a early version of the game.
Yeh, I`m raging hard as you can see from my post.
:D
I hope it is included, but I'm sure there would be an option to turn it off. Gives some people motion sickenss I believe.
It's view bob that usually gives people motion sickness, along with strange FOV choices, haven't heard of weapon bob doing it.
View bob, weapon bob, >90 FOV and high framerates are the usual culprits.
I'm willing to bet that the offset int hat screen shot is either from weapon inertia/bob or some idle animation where the gun just kind of bobs around the screen if your not firing. Oh yeah its also pre-alpha :P Nice pic though, you really showcased the issue nicely with your ray trace analysis.

that's good to hear. Personally I would like to see it a bit smaller (it feels much bigger than in the hands of the marine in front), also the butt of the rifle is a bit boring, and looks much nicer if you just move the whole thing a bit to the right (so the border of the screen is next to the ammo count).
true.. unless they are right next to you in real life and you a huge stick to hit them with xD
