My favorite thing about NS1 won't be in NS2?

What drew me in early about NS1 was the organizational dynamic. Rines had to follow orders in a top down structure and have a competent com. Aliens having to successfully collaborate on a coordinated strategy. Games where both occurred were my favorites and at the peak were fairly frequent.
Sounds like this is going away for NS2. If it's just com vs com the game will be much less interesting to me although it may be easier to sell to the masses.
I'm glad to have prepaid, the team earned much more than 40 bucks from me for the many enjoyable hours I spent playing NS1.
Sorry if I've missed a memo or two...........
I figured heck, if people can whine about the skulk size [PRE-RELEASE!]....I could speak up on this.......

I'm sure someone will make a classic NS1 styled game-mode though where it's just the marine commander.
If your favorite thing about NS1 was, like you said, two teams working well together, then you should find the idea of alien commander appealing.

Ah the benefits of using a gamemode system that completely uses LUA. Great isn't it :)?

almost never happen.
I love the epic games as much as anyone, they are incredible. but in all honesty, they never happen anymore. it takes 2 teams with all equally skilled players for that to happen, which restricts the player base to people who grew up in the game.
I don't like that they are shortening games and make the game easier to play, but i also don't like playing ns1 anymore because they games are so rarely fun.
ns2 is going to be different, and yes it will have shorter games, but if the games are too short then we can mod it to make them more epic. regardless, i trust that the team isn't going to make a game that isn't fun.
At the moment, and as stated above, there are a fair few balance issues currently associated with how the game goes at the moment; especially in pubs. A good comm can generally negate the effects of having a rubbish team by being mega organised, whereas the aliens in this respect are stuck.
