Models = Garrysmod Friendly?

Hi, I was basicly wondering if the models could be used in things like "Garry's Mod"
For those who don't know what GMod is:

Garry's Mod is a physics sandbox. Unlike regular games there aren't any predefined aims or goals. We give you the tools and leave you to play.

You can spawn objects and connect them with any of the various constraints to create your own contraptions - whether that's a car, a rocket, a catapult or something that doesn't have a name yet - that's up to you.

And please, no flaming or such, im just wondering if the models are too modified to be used in the ordinary Source engine, or maybe its still possible for a port.

    Out of the box it's safe to say no. However since in order to support customized modding of skins and models we'll therefore need the raw files to begin with (and for models, the 3D 'codec' or whatever the hell they're called), with some effort you could put them in.

    A model usualy consists of three elements:

    1 - the wireframe
    2 - the textures
    3 - animations

    Since they are (still) writing a new engine for ns2 they'll initialy be incompatible to source (gmod).
    maybe someone will recode them, tho.

    Bones too, though I think that could fall under 'animations'. At the very least, bones are necessary for ragdolls.

    Not to hijack the thread or anything, but will it be possible to change the models that come with NS2 (add extra animations, new skins, etc.) or would you need source files for that (and if so will they be made available at some point)

    of course, but consistency enabled or pure servers wont let you play with them.
    you can allways replace files with others. even if they're .PAKed up (a la Quake).
