Unable to select 4 lines to and create face
I'm working on building module level parts, what this is would be say a hallway that I can just copy and paste, and well sort of use the fulling furnished hallway as one large prop. for fast level creation, and to eliminate a lot of small detail work. The way I make these modules is one line at a time in grid 32, Then I select say a wall that would consist of 4 lines and create face. nice and simple right, WRONG! for some reason I can't create face.
If you are having a hard time understanding what I am talking about here is a little picture of one module built and the second needing its faces.

So you can see a hallway section I made it has its faces and it works.

Here as you can see, Create face doesn't work, no matter what side I look it from it doesn't have a face.
The last picture is made of lines I copied, from the first picture. If this matters please let me know why.

Doeseph, you extruded in one direction on one axis with very simple geometry. Try doing that on multiple axes and having their edges start interacting with each other more (like in any normal, full map). That goes to hell pretty quickly.
It's definitely useful for early blocking out of a level, but it doesn't last for detailing.

I'm sorry but I'm not following you. Everything you've done in those screenshots could be created from a box and extruding where need be but instead you seem under the impression it's more precise to do it face by face. My screenshot was a mimic of your 3rd screenshot showing I could get the exact same result by extruding a cube. Also, none of the geometry in your screenshots are difficult to reproduce, this is making it difficult to grasp what exactly is giving you issues.
I'm not trying to be a ###### either, I'm genuinely interested in trying to help you. I myself have run into plenty of issues with geometry but I've found workarounds to every obstacle, and I hope this is a problem I've encountered before so I can share the knowledge with you.
Fair enough I guess, It'd be interested to see what kind of detail he's looking for (or expecting...it's not 3ds max after all).
Using a single object and continually extruding it is very useful for some situations, like simple geometry and early blocking out. But geometry often becomes a lot more complex than that with detail passes. I'm of the opinion that with the way the tools are set up right now, the most optimal way to do things is to use the extruding method for basic room geometry, but then to use smaller brush-like groups of faces, which are independent objects, for all other geometry needs.
Making large areas out of completely individual faces would be pretty rough though, since it would be even more time consuming than using brushes.
