Spark Editor: Box Selection

So there's Box Selection right now, where you can click and drag and it selects all the faces and objects in that box (including faces facing away and behind others).

Here's some bugs and suggestions.

(1) Often when ctrl-selecting multiple faces, a slight movement during the click will turn the click into a box selection and select a whole ton of undesired faces. I've had to go hunting a few times to de-select a bunch of them. As easy fix would be to make a minimum mouse movement distance (or a small click time minimum) while clicked before the box selection is enabled.

(2) 2D / 3D Views: Although I've done box selection in both the 2D and 3D views, it seems like it's not easy to activate when you're not looking at the void. The first click on a face will select that face and cancel the box selection that was intended. Until we have a full Object Select option, the box selection is very useful (though it won't be made redundant by object selection).

Undo also stores select information, so that can be used when 1. occurs for the moment.
Personally I would like it a lot if the select box only selected what was entirely inside the box, so I can select a ceiling without selecting all the walls at the same time.

Why do you make a new thread for every idea you get? There are already several suggestion threads.

That's how forums work, and it's usually how moderators demand it be. A single topic for each thread, that way you can discuss them properly and it's compartmentalized.

Note that the 'Suggestion for the Spark Editor' thread wasn't meant as a conglomeration of all suggestions, if you read the first post. And now, every suggestion there is split by any number of posts and you'd need huge quotes for people to actually follow each topic.

Besides, we're in dire need of NS2 Creation forums. There should be Spark Bugs and Feature Requests subforums too, which would probably demand the format I'm using.

    Anyways...

True, but I find I only notice it happens when the face being mistakenly selected is a huge wall or something. If the other faces are backwards facing or hidden by the face I actually want to select, you can quickly and easily do a lot of damage to your level. Possibly without even noticing till later, too.

Other editors have this as a switchable option. Maybe Spark will get it sometime too. For your ceiling example (which I assume has multiple faces), I'd prefer if the single-click (not box) selection was fixed with the minimum mouse movement idea, as you can click to select a bunch of faces pretty quickly. The biggest problem lies with mistakenly doing a tiny box selection for one of them and getting dozens of other faces you didn't want.
