Do you think this would be too unbalanced?

<div class="IPBDescription">Working tram system</div>I'm trying to decide if I want to put in a working tram system in my level design. I was going to have six bases that can be walked to or traveled by tram. If, for example, you wanted to travel from base 1 to base 6, you would have to either travel past all the bases or just take the tram. Not sure if its a good idea due to ambushes and camping issue or, on the other hand, quick map domination for marines.

    The plan is to let marines build on moving things this time, so consider the problem of marines zooming around with deployed siege cannons. You could limit their movement with like infestation disabling the tracks, but still that's a lot of movement freedom you're giving.

    Even without the tram itself it's risky, basically a highway between all the major points in the level...

    Highway shouldn't be to much of a problem if you put enough ambush locations and side accesspoints (broken floors / walls, pipes spewing water and steam, etc) in there.

    Also: Siege is a minitank this time anyway...

    But it can't shoot while escaping, unlike a siege cannon on a tram. Or while running skulks over.

    I dont know the final model but I think it has at least one or two sentries on it.

    Marines have the advantage of 100% ranged weapons, which helps a lot with attacking while moving.
