Game not appearing in "My Games" in steam

Hi there, I'm sorry if this isn't the place to ask this question, but I haven't been able to find this question answered anywhere and this seems to be the best place to ask it. I installed the HL1 source, and then the natural selection install from the link on this web page, although when I exited and relaunched steam it still isn't appearing in "My games". When I was installing natural selection, there was no default install destination so I simply created a folder in my program files folder, so it could be that I just didn't install it to the correct destination. Any help getting me up and running would be appreciated, and thanks in advance for any help.

You'll need the original HL1 and not the source engine version.

then re-install NS as it should automatically installs in the proper directory.
