ITT: We share new taste experiences.
<div class="IPBDescription">Food or drinks, either goes.</div>Yes i know, weird topic title huh?
Anyway i started this topic because I like to try new things and i ran into some mountain dew at a local supermarket even though the stuff is supposedly only available through import or some very specific stores in my country (Holland). I inquired on irc whether the stuff was any good and the general consensus was: try it! so i did.
I Tried both regular mountain dew and code red and i must say i liked code red better. The taste reminds me of some bubblegum i once tried like 10 years ago.
But that was not the highlight of this topic. I've had a new gf for a month or 2 now, i won't bore you with the details, and i met her family last Sunday. The father turned out to be a cool guy and we had a few drinks so all was good. A few hours into the evening he pulls out a bottle of scotch from the shelf and supposedly it was some good stuff. I'm no whiskey expert by a long shot but the bottle apparently was a 12 year old whiskey named Lagavulin. I'm not one for strong liquor but that was some good stuff. I was actually considering buying a bottle until i found out it goes for around and about €50,- i was a bit shocked :P. Anyone out there that knows a thing or two about whiskey that could point me in the direction of something similar for a wee bit lower price?
So, unknown worlds forum, what new tastes have you recently experienced?

Some things I have found recently that were particularly interesting:
1) Canton. It's a Cognac infused with ginger. Very sweet, very strong ginger. As I happen to love ginger this is a current favorite.
2) St. Germain. A French Liquor made from Elderflower. I have had Elderflower drinks (all the previous are non alcoholic, I just don't know their names) a few times and it is a really interesting and uncommon flavor.
3) Miracle/Wonder Berry/Fruit. Not a taste in and of itself, but it is a fruit that drastically changes your sense of taste. You pulp one on your tongue (or buy Miracle Berry tabs from Think Geek and other fine retailers), letting it coat as much of your tongue as possible. Once done you will find that things are suddenly much sweeter. I haven't really played with it much yet, but I think it mainly works by blocking out sour/bitter leaving things like Lemons, beer, and all sorts of other thing tasting incredibly different. Lemon juice (left over from making cookies)tasted like candy.
More like:
Toast + Peanut Butter + Honey = Better than what NeonSpyder said.
(roughly for 2 persons)
-Swedish Chocolate balls-
Baking butter 50gram (take a bit more)
1 deciliter sugar (take a bit less)
1 and a half deciliter oatmeal (bit more)
½ a tablespoon of vanilla sugar (take slightly more)
1 overfilled tablespoon of cocoa powder
1 tablespoon hot coffee
1. Take a bowl which can be used in a microwave.
2. Melt the butter in it
3. Mix everything above preferably in that order and eat out of the bowl while still warm.
Opt 4. Roll in shredded coconut...flesh (this is the part I usually skip when doing for myself)

Thanks for providing a conversion link but surely it does not say 'cups' on your butter, eh, lumps, does it?
