A question about mapping faces to the reverse side of other faces
Hi,
I was mapping away in this night off iv'e granted myself after completing some University work, and came across a problem while creating vents. I had stuck to the general side recommendations and used models for the entrances etc, and I was using extrusion to create the vents. I came to a point that the vent met a hallway and went over it. This may not be advisable from a gameplay standpoint anyway as it blocks the commanders view of a small portion of the map, but I wanted to be able to apply faces to the outside of the vent as well as in.
The only way I could think of doing it was just creating a new rectangle texture the same dimensions as the end of the vent and extruding it over the existing vent faces, creating hte outer shell as such. My only conern with this was that it may create that annoying flicking texture problem. Could anyone recommend a solution? Thanks

For a demonstration, follow these steps:

With the editor open, use the Box tool to create a new box.
Use the select tool to highlight all four edges of the box.
From the Edit menu, click on "Create Face."
Check the other side of your box for the newly created face; if it is there, you are done, otherwise, continue with the steps.
Use the select tool to select the visible face of the box.
From the Edit menu, click on "Flip Face."
Check the other side of your box for the second face.

Presently, polygons created in the Editor support a face on each "side." One will want to make sure all vertexes are on the same plane otherwise the face will be distorted or will not create.
