Should umlaut really be capitalised there, Lolfighter?

Only if I was quoting him, which I wasn't, since I said 'umlaut' and he said 'Umlauts'.

I apologize X_Stickman, but you are incorrect. When referring to a word itself, not an instance of the word, it is correct usage to encase it in single quotes.

Only if you don't make up your own grammatical system on the fly, like I do.
In German it would be capitalised because it's a noun. I guess trollblighter has issues remember which language he's talking in. That's what happens when he speaks the language of three Reichs.

Thank you for explaining.

I remember when I was learning German, I always thought it was spelled "umlounce", because that's how it always sounded. Nobody ever said "umlaut".
Should umlaut really be capitalised there, Lolfighter?
In your sentence, 'umlaut' needs to be in single quotes.
Only if I was quoting him, which I wasn't, since I said 'umlaut' and he said 'Umlauts'.
