Can't get past level 8, the one where you have to avoid hitting the building to the right. Anybody managed to solve that? Every time I manage to make the building tip to the left some part slides off to the right.
Pretty wacky physics in that one. Dropped a worker from the top of a building once and he was fine, while trying to nudge one with a grappled block is pretty much guaranteed death.
<a href="http://pleasingfungus.com/" target="_blank">Manufactoria</a> If you know about state machines this should come naturally, but it's explained pretty well in any case. Broken this morning, some of the puzzles accept the wrong answers or reject the right ones, but worked before that. Hopefully will be fixed soon.
Useful info: Perpendicular conveyors can exist in the same square. Direction of products is then determined by the direction they enter from. Space will flip (mirror) gates.

it works.
That one you simply need to check the first bit of data on the tape. If it's blue send it to the end (the hole at the bottom) if it's not blue ditch it.
<a href="http://jayisgames.com/games/manufactoria/" target="_blank">http://jayisgames.com/games/manufactoria/</a> Manufactoria Puzzle Game
Basically, the premise is to build machines that test the programming of robots using conveyor belts and switches.
However, it quickly evolves into something much crazier. A delightful little game, and really quite epic especially if you've done any work with Finite State Machines/Automata/Turing complete stuff.

I thought you just had to make sure all robots got to the chute with an empty tape.
I'm really loving Manufactoria. I'm currently stuck at Officers!, Police!, Rocket Planes! and Academics! The problems mainly lie in rearranging and counting (and action based on the counting result).
Now that I get Manufactoria, it's so very hard but addictive. I've beaten all the "tutorial" levels (through robocats and robostilts) but now I'm stuck on bears.
edit: I figured it out right after I posted. my problem isn't generally figuring out a solution, but rather figuring out the most efficient solution...

I had the same problem... I was stuck and couldn't even get it from the description!
I went back and thought about it some more though and finally passed it. Looking back at it now, though I see that it would fail if the test had a robot that was simply Blue,Red.
For what it's worth, here is my solution... <div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain' style='height:200px;white-space:pre;overflow:auto'>http://pleasingfungus.com/?lvl=17&code=p12:5f3;c12:4f3;c11:5f0;p10:5f3;g9:5f3;c9:6f3;c9:7f3;c9:9f2;p10:9f6;c9: 8f3;p10:8f1;i10:7f0;c11:7f0;g11:8f1;y9:10f1;p10:10f7;i10:11f1;c11:10f3;c11:11f0; c 9:11f0;c8:11f1;c8:10f1;c8:9f2;c11:9f2;i12:9f7;b14:6f0;q14:7f2;q14:8f2;q14:9f2;c1 3 :9f1;c13:8f2;c13:6f3;c13:7f3;c15:8f2;c16:8f3;c16:9f3;c16:10f3;c16:11f0;c15:11f0; c 14:11f0;c13:11f0;c14:10f0;r13:10f1;c12:6f3;c12:7f3;c12:8f3;c12:10f3;</div>
Click on the floppydisk icon while you're in the level and paste that. That is my implementation of the hint that i assume you read.
This machine is not entirely correct, as I believe for a full check it really needs to go back to the blue and red cycle earlier, but this machine DOES pass the level because the test is not thorough enough. Also as I said, it will fail B/R, but for some reason that is not tested.
But good lord... It only gets harder. I don't think I'll be able to pass any more of the levels ( and I was only able to pass I think 3 more after androids)

It would also be totally alright with any arbitrary mix of blues and reds as long as the number of each is equal, which I figure isn't the point. [edit] After a bit more thought, my machine wouldn't even do what I wrote above. Back to the drawing board. [/edit]
In case your brain has been sufficiently softened from Machinarium that you feel like some straightforward shooting... <a href="http://nextframe.jp/flash/matsnp/matsnp.html" target="_blank">http://nextframe.jp/flash/matsnp/matsnp.html</a> Here's a sniping loli game or something (you shoot fuses off of bombs with a sniper rifle, sort of thing). Fun while it lasts, though large portions are locked/unfinished. Must play Tutorial to unlock higher difficulty levels, with wind.
^- that browser game has now added more characters, like Ryu (Ninja Gaiden) and Sophia the 3rd/Jason (Blaster Master). Driving around on the walls feels really weird in a mario game, but at the same time it's soo cooool!

Been playing this for the past couple of days. It's free but you can speed up your progress with micro transactions. Try it out if you like rpg's.
Genre: Action platformer
Rating: Challenging!
It's basically a mini little platformer, one attack, slightly clunky controls, no scrolling, however the level itself constantly changes.

Similar in concept to that demolition game. Just need a mouse for it.

OH GOD
Knowing that would have made the game considerable more workable.
/me goes back to trying it again.
Btw, the select tool lets you select a group of items, move them about and copy pate using shift+c and shift+v

Here's a sniping loli game or something (you shoot fuses off of bombs with a sniper rifle, sort of thing). Fun while it lasts, though large portions are locked/unfinished.
Must play Tutorial to unlock higher difficulty levels, with wind.
Play as Link, Simon Belmont, Billy R, Samus, Megaman or of course Mario trough Super Mario Bros. After each level you can choose any of them...
Plays just like the real game, only Simon has an annoying jump lag and level scrolling goes both ways...
Driving around on the walls feels really weird in a mario game, but at the same time it's soo cooool!
