<div class="IPBDescription">getting low fps in spurts</div>So I installed NS, after having not played for a while. Loaded up fine...
Set up all my stuff
Joined a server, had vsync on. 60 FPS...
I started walking around, and it went down to about 5, then back to 60...
Doesn't make sense to me...
just reformatted the machine, just have the necessary stuff for every-day work.
Intel core i7 extreme @3.6 ghz, with 6gb dd3 ram
1100w psu and an nvidia gtx 280.
windows 7 ultimate x64
theres no way its eating up my resources, cannot seem to find the problem. video drivers are latest release. any idea? i do have dual monitors, and when i move my mouse in game (fullscreen mode) i do notice it showing up on my other monitor, even minimize the game sometimes. could it be causing an overlay?

The only difference is I'm not using vsync at the moment, as I'd like 100 FPS. Oh, and the fact that I'm running 2 monitors on 1 graphics card. I had 2 in SLI, but one died so I've sent it back for repair. I don't recall this problem at all when I had 2 monitors using separate graphics cards.
What happens with me is when a battle occurs, I get bad lag -- seems like processing choke, but it effects my latency too. The odd thing is it tends to only happen when I can see enemy players. It takes a LOT (12+) of allied players for it to happen. It also happens less in the ready room.
I'll turn off dual monitors and see how it goes.
I'll let you know if having monitor 2 on a 2nd graphics card helps once I get it back from warranty.
Oh and Windowed mode would be fine if there was a no border mode, which there is not.

luxury problem :P
I notice the same problem. My mouse isn't limited to the window, it moves out into the next monitor. I have to turn off dual monitors when i play. Pretty annoying. Anyone found a solution for the mouse problem?
