Marines on the other hand can have vastly improved abilities faster. Isn't NS2 set some big number of years after NS1? I would hope that war technology has improved in that period of time lol.
Note i'm not against aliens not developing new attacks and abilities in NS2, but i AM against NS2 marines not improving in the least since NS1, while we've already seen that aliens in NS2 have new abilities and roles.
Everyone keeps on thinking "how would this fit in NS1" when considering new features for NS2.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I like how you pretty much encourage huge imbalances favoring the rines.

They are my favorite team (and my favorite activity is shooting the alien team) and there is really no way i can attempt to balance an idea without knowing every detail about what the devs are planning for both the marine and alien capabilities. I cannot assume it will be identical to NS1 + my proposed idea. The best i can do is come up with a fun idea for people to dissect, and maybe the devs will notice it because it half fits with their plans.
But i'll give it a try for the alien team. The fade would offer the room for improvement because the devs haven't released any concept art, or anything on it. Dragon winged fade? I.e. beefed up lork? That shoots out flamethrower fire + alt-fire is exploding balls of fire? is fair match for flying Iron Man armor, that may be in possession of a flamethrower or grenade/rocket launcher or throwing hand grenades?
It would fit in the sense that the fade was sort of magically flying but not really, in fact his NS1 abilities (including limited "fuel") are very similar to the NS1 jetpacks flight capabilities, so it makes sense that the fade would need to be improved in order to be a proper match for the Iron Man infantry.
Since i'm not suggesting we just have Iron Man, but still keep the NS1 jetpack (with some possible tweaks) as an in between medium cost level, then the NS1 fade and suggested dragon fade could be added. Think it would add a lot of diversity to the game. We could even have a cheap heavy which can only walk.
