The first real in-game footage we received for NS2 was this:

The first video was something that caught my eye and had me pre order NS2 when they released that video, awsome so buildings that the aliens build will give off this creep like substance? But I do not see any type of this creep in the alpha footage, wasn't this dynamic infestation suppost to be a big deal? Whats happening with it? Will buildings give off this creep as an added effect?

The first video you posted is from a lonnnnnnnnng time ago when there was no mention of their own custom engine being created, or when there was no pre-orders for NS2. The devs said on their 7th anniversary blog post that they were considering removing Dynamic Infestation, but decided to keep it in due to pre-orders helping them make the game they want to make. The devs have kept quiet in terms of showing off how the DI will work. Only time and patience will aid you at this point like the rest of the people who pre-ordered and are following all the blogs, podcasts, reveals, etc.
As Crispix said, the dev's were considering trashing DI altogether but later decided to keep it in. We haven't heard or seen anything on the subject since.
The initial dynamic infestation video showed DI working in Max's basic BSP renderer. This was back when they were developing for the source engine. They abandoned the source engine in favour of further developing Max's engine. Since then it has become a much more capable engine. I would be very surprised if they broke DI in the process, since it was working in an earlier version of the same engine all that time ago.
I'd say it would be one of the few features that would delay shipping the game if it weren't present. I rest assured, you should too.

P.S. Engine.
That's a damn good point, I can see that happening too. DI and marine grids indeed sound very integral to gameplay, and indeed being one of the main attractions and features of the game.
From what little info there is, I gather that this is indeed the case.
Very doubtful DI would make its first appearance upon release. Surely something this integral would need to be thoroughly tested throughout the beta at least.
I'm not a programmer but the scale of the proposal is pretty huge. You'd normally do that sort of level transformation by hand, yet UWE proposes to do it for any map, in any place, entirely without input.
But then UWE has a habit of performing minor miracles, like getting the art quality we have seen with such a small team, so maybe we'll see it.
You recall incorrectly. The DI video that was released was a demo of DI running in Max's engine (the engine they currently are using to make the entire game) to show off the concept without too much work before putting the effort in to getting it working in the source engine.
