Is the engine test going to have any type of benchmark or timedemo that can be used to do objective comparisons between systems? Presumably, it would give average, min, and max fps -- while allowing you to set your resolution, etc.

Yes, you can though I hear some people don't like to use FRAPS because it puts a slight load on your system in and of itself, thereby skewing your actual FPS rates from what it would be if FRAPS wasn't running.
From a comparison perspective, Fraps is only helpful if you have a repeatable demo. Also, it would be alot easier to collect performance metrics without depending on a third party tool.
So, I'd prefer a repeatable demo which can easily run which displays or logs the stats to file -- or even optionally sends them back to UW, along with the standard system information, including CPU, GPU, etc.

I don't know. I'd still use it.
