Gas is unique, it's the only weapon that can kill that last marine who seems to have gotten himself stuck on that pesky little outside of map room...So of course it has to be kept in the game, there's no question. And yes, it is a 3 hive ability, so it's like saying, "Bile bomb is dumb because it hurts me too much and I die", because that's what it's suppose to do.

Lets complain about the effectivness of turreNts now shall we? Its a level 3 ablility. They have that, unless the marines are highly skilled, you arn't comming back from that. However I have seen it happen. Sometimes, that lone marine that manages to escape the carnage at his base, run to a undefened hive, set up a new base, and procede to take out the hive, well, that makes it so satisfying <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> heh, just reminded me.
I was a marine, the last marine, and hid under maintenance hive on eclipse.
The comm dropped a comm chair and IPs in the basement and we got the whole team to agree to keep a low profile and not wander out or attack anything until we all spawned.
Once we all came back we counted "1.. 2.. 3!" and all shot the hive and killed it, muahaha
Unfortunately they still had fades and lerks and skulks and 2 hives and we were pwned.
