I am curious of how polished the engine will be by the 26th. The test version is running fairly bad on my pc, it is not the fps, but the overall feel that is chuppy.

I guess this RFK thing depended on the level people were playing:
- casual play is always with less teamplay no matter what (I never felt the urge to get another kill to go fade, maybe that's why I sucked :P) - pro play is always with more teamplay ...
I don't think RFK made any difference teamplay wise ... it just made the game less obvious for the commander to track the alien progress.

Can't wait to find head scratching bugs for you. Suggestion: find and set up a dev database for alpha tester to file in bugs and for devs to comment/fix/close them, also, make sure it has a no-brainer search function to help avoid duplicates, no one likes dupes. Absolutely brilliant! £26.82 for SE! Less than it costs to have a night on the town! Well done Devs. You're worth every bit of it. I wish you all the success in the (unknown) world!
I first started playing NS back around 1.03/1.04 and was instantly hooked along with a couple of friends. We played for years till real world got the best of us.
I am currently serving in Afghanistan and when I do get some access to the internet (besides emailing home to friends and loved ones) one of the few sites I visit is here.
Just wanted to say this news post got me off my ass and I have purchased the "special edition" pre-order. (along with making a new forum account) NS has always been one of my all time favorites and I long for the nights on servers with the guys again, kicking ass and destroying all! Thank you and keep up the excellent work.

Man, I was one day off on the predictions...I called NS2 alpha to be released on the 27th because I thought some overdeity would find it funny. But the 26th is close enough.

So, how will we find severs to play on?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Regardless of dedicated server info, im sure they'll have listen servers working and browsable through the steam matchmaking. 10k+ people playing without any sort of server searching feature would just not work, and they know that.
Anyone know the current SE pre-order #? UWE might just be having the largest alpha... ever. =o I know the circumstances are different, but still. This should be a lot of people testing pre-beta.
Although I wasn't able to order the special edition at the time, is there a way I can 'upgrade' to the special edition to be included in this alpha phase?

Might be a good idea to e-mail them with that question..doubt they're going to go through 12 pages of posts.
On-topic: So happy to see the black armor isn't just a halfassed black reskin..there are actual model deferences......makes me happy. :D
I cant thank you guys enough. I am currently in Germany on my way home from Afghanistan to go on leave. I will have a couple of days to finally play some of NS2. I have been following NS2 since, well, since it started. I very much miss playing the original and can not wait to play the new one. I am extremely excited and can not thank you enough for the near perfect timing, albiet 1 day before SC2, you really made my day. Ö

Ditto.
Looking forward to it none the less. :)
That armor is so gorgeous. Makes me feel like a child again for wanting to be inside the video game. (so i can wear that f*ing armor)

No news about dedicated servers at all at this time for the Alpha.
