Organizing for the alpha
Well I know I'll be there sitting and waiting for the first run of alpha and ready to face whatever bugs come our way and do the best to put it through the rigors that only an unemployed college nerd can do.
So, who's with me?
Join the Steam NS2 Alpha Tea-time group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/ns2alphatt/
I am an Eastern US player but my play hours are usually from noon to 2 AM PDT my steam name is "insufficient funds"
I am sure any dedicated servers that get put up right away will be filled so this may help get games going with players in the same areas and times.

NS2 Alpha Tea-Time should be the name of the group.

Group is public. I don't see a problem with people who are not in the alpha joining but if it would get out of hand somehow I will make it private. Looking forward to playing with all of ya'll!
I wonder if voice communication will come with the alpha or if anyone wants to get do some teamspeak servers up and post them to the group that would be awesome.
But as soon as i am back
I am also EST but i will be on at around 9 PM (day jobber)
Which according this converter
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/
places me at 1 AM UTC...the next day

I assume they are providing some servers
Does anyone know where to buy a good one?
Just doing the countdown as everyone else :)
I might be mapping instead of playing though. I'm kinda expecting an editor update with the alpha so im looking at +1 week after release of getting my map ready for it's alpha release :p
Just put your i-tunes on shuffle.
Im at GMT -3 so i guess 2 hours ahead of US east.
i just cant wait. :D
If its released before 1:30pm, CST - I may have time to hop on and see some shiny new things - but I wont get to play long.
I will have to wait until 11pm to play. :(
Being released Friday, the 23rd would be much better for me, considering thats my weekend - Friday to Saturday. But, oh well. I'll get some time in after 11.
Speaking of, I'm curious about UWE's decision to release Alpha the day before SC2's release?

*GASP*
their releasing it a day early so they can go play starcraft while we find the first bugs ><
Then pwn us when we get around to playing it.
NS2 Alpha Tea-Time should be the name of the group.

YES YES! DO IT NOW, CHANGE IT NOW, DO IT! WHERES IS IT?
then we can play Alpha Tea Time music while alpha testing. YES! WHERES IS THE NAME CHANGE???????
Oh now i see the name change.

They think getting their game done is more important than people who don't want to help bugtest and instead want to play SC2?
If that's the case, +1 to Unknown Worlds Entertainment for getting Alpha out when they can and not a week later even if doing so pisses off people who don't really want to bugtest anyway.
I can't imagine the alpha being done already (Charlie said in the BashAndSlash interview they JUST got the dedicated server code done 1.5-2 weeks ago) and delayed the Alpha release by half a month to piss off people. That'd be uncool and rather odd.
Because Alpha Tea Time sounds like an anime reference. DUH
I know YouTube has "link-only" feature now so that you can only access a video through a specific web-link, which should make it perfect for linking on the forums without spreading it. That way those who can't play it (those without SE or otherwise) can see the game on alpha-release.
Anyway, consider it!
