When I click the "proceed to checkout" screen, firefox doesn't have a blue box thingy by the left hand side of the URL, which it normally displays when on a secure page. I'm not desperately looking to have my debit card details stolen (despite the lack of much to steal :/), so can someone let me know if there's an innucuous reason for why the blue box has gone awol?

Edit: I'm not logged into paypal btw (I don't have an account)

Paypal has a blue P not a blue box :P Hover over that to see the message "Authenticated by VerySign, Inc."

Another thing is to check if there is a lock on your status bar at the bottom right. Paypal should direct you to a HTTPS:// ?(s = secure) (shameless copypaste from BRICE :P) page any time you load the website though...

Thanks for the replys. Yeah it is showing the https address. However, the lock status you mentioned Kouji_San for me warns that the page "contains unauthenticated content". Is this something to worry about?

Yes your computer is already taken over by the Russian and Chinese and the only way to get it to stop from becoming a spy is to drown it in vodka and sweet and sour sauce. Liberally apply all over the cpu.

    And no.
