I had a lot of trouble getting my key sent to my address until it was manually sent by someone who works for uknownworlds... should I anticipate the same issue with the key for the armor and such?
Hopefully there won't be too many people complaining about how unpolished the game is, I have a horrible feeling most people bought it expecting to play NS2 before everyone else.

This..to all the people talking about anticipation, this is probably only gonna be fun for a few minutes in this state...I'm still anticipating it, but this is not even really a game at this phase.

They are basically done, but still need a bit of tweaking. Same with the Crag, the alien structure that is pictured in the background of that same shot, But those will both be going back in soon.
Can't wait to play this :3 I went shopping and prepared myself a little: http://img267.imageshack.us/f/preparations.jpg/
I can tell that you're really anxious Charlie. Don't worry. Most of the community is mature enough to understand that this is an alpha. An actual alpha, not some PR stunt to pull more pre-orders or subscribers like bigger companies do it when they let people "play test" their "beta". Yeah right...
There will of course be the inevitable "ZOMG A BUX!!! THIS GAME SUX!!1!!!" complaints. Just ignore them. The rest of us knows that what we get will be neither complete nor flawless. And we will love it anyway. Maybe because of that. And 10 years from now maybe we will look back at this moment, as one of the most interesting times of NS2, and we remember what it was like when biting the armory would cause all marines to drop to 1 HP or something like that.
A very well deserved congratulations is in order. I'm excited to finally get my hands on this and I'm sure many others will as well. Though this release will surly be overshadowed by the launch of Starcraft II, I fully expect the community to embrace it.
Bit of a question I hadn't thought of before, but is there going to be any sort of NDA on the Alpha content?
On one hand, I can see the benefit of the extra publicity of having media out there, though often times the Alpha impression isn't one you want getting spread around too much, as it isn't usually representative of the final product's quality.

Exciting. Indeed I am prepared to deal with poor hit registration. I'll be certain to give plenty of feedback and swamp you with more work ^_^
I don't think I understand yet what the server situation will be. Because if there will be only 1-3 official servers, we're going to have a waiting line to get in...
fwaaa its going to be fun tnite haha. No more tf2 for me for a super long time once this comes out haha. Its gonna be Ns2 and maybe Sc2. Hope to see a lot of people in servers tnite. LETS FIND THE BUGS WOOOT!
However, since I live in Denmark, I will be asleep when you release the alpha. It would have been nice, if you'd released it a few hours earlier, so Europe would have had the pleasure on the 26th as well ...
Anyways thanks for what promises to be a great game :-)

I'll be eagerly anticipating the updates that will come as well, as I'm sure you guys will be reacting to feedback very fast.
Also, will custom maps be supported right now? It would be great to be able to play in some of the maps that the community has been creating!

I played NS for about 5 years. SUPER READY to play unfinished alpha of buggy featureless doom and still love it!!!

If you die....
Can I take your gorge spot?

Grats to your team, and keep up the fantastic job.
Will be providing feedback from what I see in-game to help better Natural-Selection 2 on the road to v1.0.
Greetings from Estonia and btw local time of the alpha release will be 4.00 AM But i hope it will be worth it
and nice screen shots :)
