Two Connection problems

One when i try to join a server i get to the authenticating but stays at that and in console it keeps spamming "error in packet"
Two my friends computer when he hits the join server butten it instantly shuts down hid PC lol so yeah anyone else got these errors
So we will see if we can fix it :)
thx but i will say great game from what ive played in the create your own game just havnt been able to play with others yet :(
Edit: ok so the complete computer shut down was fix if we run it in window mode apparently 1680x1050 is not good to join servers works fine to create games but not to join servers lol
