You know you want to
Situation: Oh no my legs are disabled/broken/missing and I must drag myself back to base slowly with no way of protecting myself
Solution: I guess my friend over there can drag me by my shoulders and I can protect us both :D
Kicker: and Oh look other friends are coming to help
reward: credits :D shiiiiiinnnnnyyyyyy
------------------------
let's say you got bit in the legs and you can't get back up. Oh noez.
You have 3 1/2 options
1. Lay there and die
2. Drag yourself back to base
3. Call for help
3 1/2. Drag yourself back to base and call for help.
I would personally do 3 1/2 for 2 reasons
A. I get to keep my stuff, If I make it back alive
B. It's epic
---------------------
Now let's see what the helpers get for .... helping
Credits
the amount of which is based on
A. How far the injured marine was dragged
B. How close he/she was to death
C. If he/she survives
---------------
Now for those who are thinking
What about me helping them get back to base by providing covering fire?
YOU GET credits and some kills maybe
The amount of credits is based on
A. For how long you provided cover for the marines
(basically A for the dragger just based on which point in time you joined the rescue)
B. How close he/she was to death
C. If he/she survives
THINGS YOU CAN DO
As the dragger (VERSION 1)
A. Drag the marine with both hands
B. Look around a bit
C. Be epic
As the dragger (VERSION 2)
A. Drag the marine with one hand (slower)
B. Look around and shoot with a gun in the other hand (reasonable weapon Pistol, Rifle)
C. Be even more epic
As the dragger (VERSION 3)
A. Carry the marine over your shoulder (fastest way, but you don't get to shoot, neither does the injured marine)
B. Turn and walk
C. Be epic
As the Draggee (Person being dragged)
A. Shoot with your weapons (not just pistol) mmmmmmmmmm flamethrower spam will keep the creepy crawlies away ..... maybe
B. Look around
C. Be kinda epic as well
As the marines providing covering fire
You can do all the stuff that you normally can.
----------
WHY THIS IS AN AWESOME IDEA IMO
A. It's epic
B. It will encourage teamwork (aka credits for helping)
C. Because you know you want to.

Comments
Even assuming it did, having the entire squad run back to base because some pleb got hit by a skulk really doesn't fit the pace of NS, just respawn, it's faster.
That's why they would add an option that you could choose to instantly die if you get crippled if you wanted to.
It's still very counterproductive to encourage people to abandon what they are doing to do some stupid minigame to farm cash.

Well you can have your opinion and I can have mine.
KA-BLEWWY!!

No more crippled marine or Skulks (=P)
