I record using a program called FRAPS.
It is probably one of the better programs for recording in-game footage. But it is very heavy on your CPU and harddrive. If you have a quadcore, set the core affinity for it to the 4th core (most games wont touch it), use half-resolution at 30fps and if you have a secondary harddrive, record to that. Full resolution at 30fps will use about 4GB for ever 3m30s of video.
First time i played the alpha, i went Aliens. I just went running around, getting a feel for everything. Then I tried leap and I think I almost died (irl, true story) because i realized that i could leap from floor to ceiling in almost any room on the map.
I played alien comm in a game of about 10 or more people for awhile. This is where i saw performance issues; it was just comical to see my click somewhere for my drifters to go, and see them move a few feet, stutter/stop, and then move, stutter. meanwhile, i could see skulks all over the map lag-teleporting past my poor slow drifters.
also, playing as marines, me and 3 marines trying to take down ONE skulk was pretty humorous. We eventually realized that switchaxe was way more effective with the current state of lag/hitboxes. We eventually just ran into the alien hiveroom, and 2 or 3 of us took down the hive entirely with switchaxes.
Had an epic fight with a fatteh that ended when he jumped down into the crack between a wall and railing and proceeded to accidentally kill himself with spit XD.
I started on a listen server by my self, and discovered that i could belly slide in 3rd person. Then discovered that online it was a handy way to flee bad men with shirtguns.
Firing a grenade and gibbing about three different players, a skulk charging towards me, a skulking charging away, and a lerk mid flight, was pretty hilarious. Anyone else agree that nade blast radius is a little... absurd?
A picture says more than 1000 words, so look at it and make your mischief moves in the next round. I didn't care if this thing is usable, as I was the only one on the server and didnt have serverside console access.
I tested gorge dropped a few hydras, one stuck in thin air, (invisible wall you can move through?). Switched sides, blundered into the hydras, got stuck and killed by my own hydras. (BTW i feel like I've already got my money's worth)
I held the line against wave after wave of marines as a gorge only to be eventually cornered by three members of the other team and axed to death. I know, it's the stuff of legends.

What is happening is the people you know are leave (and people coming in and replacing them). It is all because of age groups, people just starting sophomore year (grade 11) are not starting college and with this they have less time. Also girlfriends, wanting to do more in their studies also complicates it. People are loosing interest and people are gaining interests. It is just for people like most of us (1.04 vets and people that have been here from the start) do have obstacles at time that prevent us from playing as we would like.
I for one have had less playing time. Two years ago when I started to play I was in 9th grade and recently left the CAL-m scene because I felt my friend were more important. I was not a very book studying person (with leaving computer related things easy for me though) so my GPA idled around 80. As time moved on and I kept playing NS getting better and better the summer of 9th grade was coming up and I was in my "prime" where I joined cri (a veteran team at the time) and most of that summer was spent with NS/friends. 10th grade rolled around and I ended up playing more and more ns until about December in what I called "The beginning of the end" of me playing NS. I became a well known figure in the community not for skill though, because of my antics. I then started to go out with my girlfriend (and still am) in January in which I pretty much stopped playing NS. This of course was until I started a clan that did not last long but sure left a mark (with drama of course). By then I was playing ns about an hour a week and that was scrims. This was because I tried to move my GPA up more and started a college programming class that I got accepted into (which I finished with a 3.0 GPA being third in the class) and my girlfriend. Don't get me wrong, I still had a lot of interest in NS and did try and squeeze in whatever playing time I could and ended up getting my infamous "0-13" score with my connection dieing on me. Then I was approached by WiredLabs (and AmpedNews) Sypher to start and lead their Natural Selection division. This ended up being a big hit but slowly died after I left (and is not starting to come back again). Now, I play NS when I have the free time while having it squeezed in with helping my mother from time to time (who has about four disease including things that cause her to have seizures and is still diagnosed with chronic alcoholism so that doesn't help when she takes her medicine), girlfriend and school. Also including my passion for computer programming as I will have about one year of Computer Science done (9 out of 12 credits) and still on other free time learn PHP/Flash MX 2004 as a hobby. However, even though their is other things that I do I was here from the start of the community and will be with it till its untimely death.
This is just an example of one persons time restraints pushing him away from NS but yet, being him back now. This happens to many people and I am sure has happen to a few people in this Playtester group.

AMAZING ! Â :-)
I also did gorge racing (with infinite belly slide) with a friend, funny stuff.
When everything went all Baysplosions on us.

That was pretty hilarious. And loud.
In a locked dedicated server with a friend.
One marine jumping up and down on IP then when i spawned in, it shot me out like a marble sending me across the room via a few bounces in the rafters.
Just picture it.
I assume it was just a luck of the draw bug most likely caused by latency.
I was alien and I was uselessly chasing a marine (too much lag to hit anything)
and to escape, he jumps in the CC and I follow him in and it closes then we have an intense bite VS axe fight
Then he opened the CC and killed me
