gnomes?

One think I would not mind seeing added to the marines is the gnome. To some extent gorges had an unofficial counterpart in the gnome who had a super pick and welder but little hp and were the defensive class of the marines. This was only available on custom server who had the extra mod for it but mean you had both offensive and defensive troop options available. Only have 1 gnome was available at a time before but more may be possible. They were also very useful for repairing the armour of the marines especially the heavies. I was thinking that they may be able to offer a similar role to the gorge where they may be able to build towers and repair their fellow players maybe more like an engineer and medic in TF2. Is there any chance that the gnome (or similar class type) may be able to be included officially as it may be good for balance?
