What are the minimum entities I need in my map so that NS2 can load it without crashing, and then I will spawn in a ready room and be able to pick my team. (Just the basic requirements)
IRC people directed me to this: <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=110469" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....howtopic=110469</a>
Before I was missing the minimap_extents entity and have way too few spawn points. I think it should be able to work with less than 32/16 spawn points... but I probably need that minimap entity

Anyways, I deleted all but 12 spawn points (4 in readyroom, 4 in alien spawn, 4 in marine spawn), added 2 team_infos, and 2 team_joins, and now it works fine.
It actually seemed like having extra spawn points severely lagged up the game.
@barlow; i thought the com cam was for placing static 'cinematic' cameras locking player view while the map loads/waiting to spawn and such.
Anywho , back to (sorta) on topic :
Any tricks besides filtering to cut down on the editor lag. I am using it on an AMD 3800+ 2.4 with 3GB ram and a 9500GT 1GB vid and i get super laggy while placing or adjusting my lights.
What i am asking here is, Is there a way to build sections (level Pieces) and import them all together in a single map near completion?
Like prefab rooms?

you just create a room-by-file, and the end copy and paste into the file of your map.
cons in order to copy and paste you must open two editor windows (1 per file).
it can work on one piece at a time and therefore have less lag.
hoping that it was your question.
good mapping :)
For the first time ever the editor crashed on me so it made the whole importation that much more painful for me. Possible crash was having 2 editor windows open at once, My little AMD Dual core choked up really bad before the editor went down.
SO, Anything better than my card is gud enought.
If I was to build a budget PC right now still taking into account upgradability, something that will last me for 5 years+ changing some components along the way.
This is what i would get to sort me out for a long while:

^^^ Fast System, last you very long time, the Motherboard will allow you to keep upgrading for some time, All for less than £500.
This is much more powerfull than my PC that I built 2/3 year ago for £1200 and I still dont need a new one, just a better graphics card now.
