A Question about making sprays in Gimp2

<div class="IPBDescription">Please help</div>Now I really don't know if this is the right area to post this, so here it goes:
I have having difficulty trying to make a decent clear spray in ns. I saw a Tutorial here: <a href="http://forums.gamespy.com/editing_forum/b67304/10402474/p1/" target="_blank">http://forums.gamespy.com/editing_forum/b67304/10402474/p1/</a> but that explains how to make one in Photo Shop. I have Gimp2 and the color palate that's explained in that tut is w/ PS not gimp. There is no color palate in Gimp2 to turn solid blue, etc. Any one know of a tutorial on how to make custom clear sprays by Using Gimp2?
