Yeah...
I recall that Mount & Blade was relatively popular here whilst it lasted, but I'm curious as to how many ended up getting Warband and are playing online whenever the urge to bash a skull or two comes about?
I was all about M&B when it came out (before, even), but I never got this. I remember we all talked about how awesome it would be multiplayer, too. The PvP sounds tough. Is there co-op?
I think there's a mod in development that will do coop. The PVP is pretty brutal though, but that's what makes it fun. However, it's so fast paced that you always have a chance to catch good players off guard.
I have it, but never dared to join a MP game after reading some people saying you can just helicopter-lag-swing-madly and kill just about anyone coming near. It would be nice to team up with some people though.
Nullifying the use of bows and crossbows with the new addition of shields on your back protects you automatically is kind of bull######ty. It also doesn't have a proper hitbox so the sides barely work either, add an equipped shield, a horse and you are immune to projectiles.

Actually it's quite the opposite. Go on a duel server when good players are on and they'll go on 10+ kill streaks, no matter what jumping spinning nub crap someone pulls. It's skill based, trust me. But one thing it's not: "intuitive". If you're only playing with bad players then yes, you can abuse their lack of ranging skill.
Shields on the back only reduce damage, not stop it. They do block nearly perfectly from the front, based on giganto hit boxes rather than model. But if they didn't, everyone would be archer - in a melee game with open fields, ranged need limitations. And your horse is not immune to projectiles, it's very vulnerable in fact. Couple of arrows to your horses head from decent archers and you're all alone on the ground with a useless lance.
There are also sometimes organized events like pugs where people plan strategies and use formations, which is cool.
The biggest problem is lack of player base, because it is unintuitive and has bad graphics. But it's an awesome game. I can't wait until a sequel is released with actual funding and has an engine built by a team, not a husband+wife working part time.
Check out this tutorial video if you want to see how the dueling mechanics work. It's pretty sweet. Also FFT music ftw. And shoryuken ftw.
Hehe, Reapy's tutorial vid is awesomely made. Can't help but to think that he's a serious addict :P
I myself dedicate my time these days to pikes and hammers exclusively since so few use them. Still manage to do extremely well most of the time :D
But yeah, Taleworlds isn't really a husband and wife team anymore. They do have some employees and all, but I guess the thing holding back is still funding. Nevertheless, I still love to read the reactions of new players that initially thought the game was crap cause the graphics looks so outdated but then did 180 degree turns in opinion.
The game is far from perfect, in my opinion it's still got quite a few issues with misc. mechanics, but all in all, Warband's become one of those games which has given me the most out of the money that I paid for it....well, considering I pre-ordered it so early, that's a ######load of gameplay value for the few euros that I paid for it :)
I must say I'm seriously impressed by those videos, now to take the time to understand all the mechanics fluently! I used auto block for single player >_<
Hello, I also heard about it many people said that it is best and they love it. i also try one and it is really awesome.i want to buy it so please if you know any good link that will provide in less costs tell me.
