So basically, Art team > Gameplay team > Engine team.
Max and Charlie gotta catch up!

So question, what happens when the Art team is done with all their tasks? Seems like you've completed the majority of the assets, while the in-game implementation is rather far behind (and subject to change) - so you'll end up finishing first. Level design?

The art team's work is never done!

until the game is in a completely finished/playable state then the art team should always have work... they can always make more concept art for future settings or create more props...

True! Forgot all about the different schemes they were planning. Damn, looking forward to 'em now.

Props did come to mind, but I didn't want to say it 'cause it's like "uh, is that all?". But really, it does seem like the assets are progressing much faster than the coding, in terms of % of completion (towards a 'finished' game).

i have been wanting a female model for years.
but PLEASE do not follow the UT/Q3 trend of making female models look like strippers with guns. please let the female models retain a bit of dignity, a la quake 2 multiplayer and such
QUOTE (yimmasabi @ Sep 5 2010, 12:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

They finished all chars except female model of rine which is easy for them. Just make them look like the female marines from the beginning of the Aliens movie.

Not sure that UWE were gonig to make them raunchy at all, though.

Someone will mod in a raunchy female marine, no doubt about it.
• TigTig Join Date: 2010-05-08 Member: 71674Members, Reinforced - Shadow, WC 2013 - Silver
i doubt UWE is gonna put in a half naked female model. she'll be wearing the same standard issue TSA marine armor. As far as a curvy model? sex sells.

so i doubt she'll be shaped like:

I thought they weren't putting in the female model until release or later due to budget/time constraints. It's something that's kind of cool, but it doesn't actually do anything gameplay-wise, so it's probably time better spent on something else (like heavy armor).

They weren't happy with their original model, or something, scrapped it and decided to put it on the backburner for now. IIRC.

The female marine was one of the first models made. After more of the art assets for the marines were completed, particularly the male marine himself, it became clear that the female model wasn't of the same standard as the rest of the marine art, which had evolved somewhat. She's going to have to be redone to match the other marine assets, so she probably won't be in the game until a whole bunch of other art tasks are completed.

You mean that 'she' was basically floating breasts, right?

I wanna see male and female marines. And please don't make the female marine excessively ugly or skanky looking, just above average will be fine or it will look too weird :)
