Update please

I'd like to see at least one official update a week from the UW team. We aren't looking for miracles, and understand that sometimes releases have showstoppers...but a sense of inclusion goes a long way, especially for those of us that invested in the game early.
I understand that writing up an article takes time, but its a small price to pay to keep your fans interested. If your team doesn't have time to write articles, I'm sure there is at least one or two trustworthy NS fans who would love to write them for free, as long as you give them an inside peek at the development process.
Thanks.
Respectfully,
Racer1.

This.
Aaaaand /thread.
UWE have shown us their in house bug tracker and current task manager and that STILL isn't enough for you?
I do understand this might sound stupid, but I really like cookies and I would even pay a moderate price for the delivery.
Thanks in advance,
-.-
PS: (without irony) I'm pretty sure all of them work their ass off for this game and they do it since they started years ago which means nearly no free time and working on weekends, because as Charlie mentioned if you aren't that dedicated to your game they wouldn't have got any angel investment nor would there be a chance to get all the things done.
Also the phrase "with all due respect" and "respectfully" does not allow you to follow that with completly disrespectful questions ...
PPS: I hope you expected to get that much hate for that question :) if not I'm honestly sorry for you, spend some time with something else and don't check here daily, it works for most of us.
Also, as I suggested in my OP, I'm sure a fan could do it for free -- thus taking almost no more time from the UW team.
Just thought I'd drop by since I haven't seen an update in what seems like a long time and apparently one of the guys is off making iphone apps. I guess delivering updates isn't really a top priority though because no one is playing the game until it gets much more stable.

The dude does the flash programmer for the game. That is not really a huge part for coding or core gameplay.

Making a game takes a lot of time, effort, and knowledge. Please understand that the devs are trying their best. Chill and play some other games if you can't wait for the update...or you could play around with the scripting/mapping like the rest of us. :)
I do think having a dedicated fan writer would be nice, but I am fine with the constant twitter updates as it is. (even though I get super anxious to see new reveals/updates)
Getting a community member up to speed enough to write a dev article would probably take more time than if one of us did it ourselves.
We like keeping the community up to date, but at the stage we're at - pushing to get a more playable build out to you guys - no-one really has much energy left over for a blog post.
That's a success of this system, and I love the twitters/progress bar.

What kind of 'in-depth articles' are you looking for? You can read exactly what they are working on at any point in an easily accessible format. What else exactly are you expecting as updates for an alpha development stage? If you would like me to send you an email every day saying the game is still alpha, and turn the concise development log into pretty sentences and paragraphs I would be glad to do it. My paypal address is on the way.
Something like <a href="http://blog.wolfire.com/2010/09/SIMD-optimization" target="_blank">Wolfire </a>does, maybe?
Those guys are blog-a-holics.
Keep up the good work at the office :D

Why though?
There is no need, I'd much rather them spent the 30 minutes working on the game than typing up some technical stuff that only a hand full of people will understand.

Mostly because some people have no patience or any other games to play while waiting for this game. So they need any morsel of information they can get.
That's not UWEs problem though. My troll senses are tingling.
Tell em to go play Civ5 while they wait :P
But seriously, I think between the twitter updates and news entries, we get a good amount of info. Once they push out build 152, I'd assume regular news entries will be back.

halo reach is pretty sweet in 1080p. new mario for wii is all throwback love. that and ns2 mapping has taken up my time.
You wish it was at 1080p.
<a href="http://www.digitalbattle.com/2010/05/01/halo-reach-still-not-running-at-true-720p/" target="_blank">http://www.digitalbattle.com/2010/05/01/ha...g-at-true-720p/</a>
There are very few console games that actual render at 1080p. Their mainly upscaled.

Fixed it for you.
In the meantime I am working my way through Fallout 3 for the first time. Fun game. ;) And I get about 60 FPS with everything maxed out. Pretty good for a 2 year old Gateway with a 9800 GT in it, I think.
Cheers,
Cody
